CLG school partnerships begin with a literacy needs assessment conducted jointly by CLG staff and the school's administrative team.CLG then designs a professional development plan for the school, which
can include the following services:
Professional Development Workshops, focusing on specific components of reading and writing workshop (e.g., exploring methods of teaching minilessons using Calkins' Units of Study) as well as formative assessment practices
Study Group Facilitation, offering teachers ongoing support in analyzing student work and planning instruction
Lab-Site Coaching, providing teachers regular, intensive learning opportunities alongside their grade-level colleagues in the context of their own classrooms
Principal and Coach Consultation, identifying and implementing effective infrastructure and resources needed to support schoolwide implementation of balanced literacy practices
